Neil A. Roberts, MS, is an Aviation Safety Program Consultant for CAPACG, LLC. Neil brings a broad aviation background to CAPACG and is always looking to explore new approaches in aviation safety. Neil attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology with an Aviation area of concentration. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Neil completed minors in Aviation Safety/Accident Investigation and Airline Dispatch. Neil holds an air transport license with multi-engine, instrument and seaplane ratings. Neil’s aviation career revisited academia in 2005 when he returned to ERAU to complete a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics with a focus on Aviation Safety and Operations. It was during the completion of his graduate degree where he was introduced to Flight Data Monitoring (FDM). Neil completed a graduate research project exploring the use of FDM in Corporate Aviation and sought to expose corporate aviation professionals to this concept in aviation safety.
In addition to his educational background, Neil has enjoyed a strong exposure to aviation and was formally employed as a Meteorologist for Bombardier Aerospace’s Flexjet. Neil’s type ratings include the Beech 1900, ATR-42, Hawker Siddeley 748, Lear 35A and Boeing 737. He has flown internationally in numerous facets such as geophysical survey, aerial fire detection, cargo, medevac and airline operations. In addition to CAPACG, Neil is a flight deck crew member on a privately owned Boeing 737 in Toronto, Ontario.
